Eva Pinkelnig reached her first career victory in the FIS Grand Prix competition. The Austrian triumphed with jumps of 92.5 m and 88.5 m. The second place went to Ursa Bogataj, who secured the win in the GP overall standings. Third was Nika Kriznar.
Eva Pinkelnig was the only jumper who managed to reach 90 meters in the first round. The result of the three-time winner of the World Cup competitions was 92.5 meters. Before the final round, the Austrian had an 11-point advantage over Ursa Bogataj. The Slovenian jumped from a shortened inrun and reached 85 meters. The third at the halfway point was Julia Clair (85.5 m) ahead of Nagomi Nakayama (85 m), Julia Muelhbacher (80 m) and Nik Prevc (81 m).
In the final, Eva Pinkelnig flied to a distance of 88.5 meters, thus achieving the first victory in her career in the FIS Grand Prix competition. The Austrian was ahead of Ursa Bogataj (85 m) by 16.5 points and Nika Prevc (92 m) by 24.2 points. Julia Clair (90.5 m) finished just behind the podium, ahead of Nagomi Nakayama (89.5 m) and Silje Opseth (89 m).
Thanks to today’s second place, Ursa Bogataj (360 points) secured her final triumph in the FIS Grand Prix overall standings. Before the final individual competition in Klingenthal, the Slovenian is 120 points ahead of Nika Kriznar (240 points). French Josephine Pagnier is third (187 points).
On Sunday in Rasnov the athletes will participate in the mixed team event . The competition starts at 10:45 CET.
