Silje Opseth won the inaugural competition of the FIS World Cup 2022/2023 at the Adam Małysz hill (HS134) in Wisla, Poland. The Norwegian triumphed after jumps of 123 m and 127 m. The second place was taken by Marita Kramer, and the third was Eva Pinkelnig.
Silje Opseth was in the lead already after the first round. The athlete from Norway landed on 123 meters and was the leader with an advantage of 4 points over Marita Kramer (121.5 m) and 4.2 points. over Sara Takanashi (121 m). Eva Pinkelnig (125.5 m) was fourth, Jenny Rautionaho (124 m) was fifth and Frida Westman (127.5 m) was sixth.
In the final round, Silje Opseth sealed her second World Cup victory with a jump of 127 meters. Thus, she triumphed with an advantage of 7.3 points over Marita Kramer (125 m) and 8.4 points over Eva Pinkelnig (126.5 m). Frida Westman (126 m) finished just behind the podium, ahead of Anna Odine Stroe (121 m) and Sara Takanashi (122 m).
Thanks to the win in Wisla, Silje Opseth (100 points) became the first leader of the World Cup overall standings in the 2022/2023 season. The Norwegian is ahead of Austrians – Marita Kramer (80 points) and Eva Pinkelnig (60 points).
