Eva Pinkelnig won the inaugural competition of the Silvester Tournament at the Villacher Alpenarena (HS98) in Villach and took back the lead in the FIS World Cup overall standings. The Austrian triumphed thanks to jumps on 91.5 m and 95.5 m. Second place went to Anna Odine Stroem and third to Nika Kriznar.
Eva Pinkelnig was leading already after the first round with 91.5 meters. The Austrian had a point advantage over Anna Odine Stroem (93.5 m) and 2.1 points over Ema Klinec (95 m). Fourth was Anna Rupprecht (90 m), fifth Selina Freitag (91 m), and sixth Nika Kriznar (93.5 m).
In the final, Eva Pinkelnig jumped 95.5 meters and triumphed in Villach with a lead of 9.5 points over Anna Odine Stroe (92.5 m). The lowest step of the podium was taken by Nika Kriznar (93.5 m), followed by Alexandria Loutitt (91 m), Marita Kramer (93.5 m) and Abigail Strate (93 m).
Eva Pinkelnig (257.9 points) became the first leader of the second edition of the Silvester Tournament. The second place in the overall standings is occupied by Anna Odine Stroem (248.4 points), while the third is Nika Kriznar (243.5 points).
Thanks to Wednesday’s victory in Villach, Eva Pinkelnig (436 points) regained the lead in the overall standings of World Cup. The Austrian is ahead of Katharina Althaus (369 points) and Silje Opseth (337 points).
Another day of competition in Villach is scheduled for Thursday.
