Eva Pinkelnig won Sunday’s World Cup competition in Zao (HS102). The overall standings leader jumped 96 m and 98.5 m. The German Selina Freitag was second, and the Norwegian Anna Odine Stroem was third.
After the first round of Sunday’s event, Eva Pinkelnig was in the lead. The World Cup leader landed on 96 meters and was 0.3 points ahead of Selina Freitag (98.5 m) and 3 points ahead of Thea Minyan Bjoerseth (96.5 m). Fourth was Anna Odine Stroem (95 m), fifth Nika Kriznar (94.5 m), and sixth Marita Kramer (93.5 m).
In the final, Eva Pinkelnig sealed her success with a jump of 98.5 meters. The leader of the World Cup won with an advantage of 1.3 points over Selina Freitag. The third place went to Anna Odine Stroem (96.5 m) ahead of Silje Opseth (98 m) and Thea Minyan Bjoerseth (93 m).
Thanks to the victory in Japan, Eva Pinkelnig (1016 points) strengthened her lead in the World Cup. The Austrian is ahead of Katharina Althaus (753 points) and Anna Odine Stroem (647 points).
The next FIS World Cup competitions will be held in two weeks, on January 28-29 in Hinterzarten (HS111) in Germany.
