Katharina Althaus confidently won Saturday’s World Cup competition at the Rothaus-Schanze (HS111) in Hinterzarten. The German won with jumps of 107 m and 102 m. The second place was taken by Ema Klinec, and the third was Abigail Strate, for whom it was the first World Cup podium in her career.
In the first round, Katharina Althaus made the longest jump, landing at 107 meters. The German was leading by 14.9 points over Sara Takanashi (103.5 m) and 20.6 points. over Abigail Strate (103m). Fourth was Selina Freitag (97 m), fifth Yuka Seto (101 m), and sixth Ema Klinec (102 m).
In the second round, Katharina Althaus jumped on 102 m and won at the Rothaus-Schanze with a lead of 21.2 points over second Ema Klinec (105.5 m). The third place was won by Abigail Strate (106.5 m), who stood on the podium of the World Cup competition for the first time in her career. The Canadian was ahead of Sara Takanashi (101 m), Selina Freitag (99 m) and Chiara Kreuzer (94 m).
Eva Pinkelnig (1,036 points) leads in the overall World Cup standings, ahead of Katharina Althaus (853 points) and Anna Odine Stroe (673 points).
