Eva Pinkelnig won Friday’s World Cup individual competition in Hinzenbach (HS90). The leader of the overall standings jumped 91.5 m and 91.5 m. The Slovenian Ema Klinec came second, and her teammate Nika Prevc third.
Eva Pinkelnig was the best in the first competition round. The leader of the World Cup with a result of 91.5 meters was leading at the halfway point with an advantage of 2.6 points over Ema Klinec and 5.8 points over Chiara Kreuzer (87.5 m). Fourth was Alexandria Loutitt (87 m) ahead of Katharina Althaus (86.5 m) and Selina Freitag (89 m).
In the final, Eva Pinkelnig reached 89.5 meters and the Austrian won the ninth World Cup competition in her career. The hosts’ favorite won in Hinzenbach with an advantage of 3.9 points over Ema Klinec (87 m). The third place was taken by Nika Prevc, who was seventh at the halfway point (88 m), and stood on the podium of the individual World Cup competition for the first time. She was followed by Katharina Althaus (87.5 m), Alexandria Loutitt (86.5 m) and Chiara Kreuzer (86 m).
In the World Cup overall standings, Eva Pinkelnig’s lead (1,242 points) over Katharina Althaus (1,053 points) increased to 189 points. Third is Anna Odine Stroem (844 points), but Ema Klinec (835 points) is 9 points behind her.
The second competition in Hinzenbach is scheduled for Saturday. The start at 9:00 CET.
