The German national team defended the title of world champions of mixed teams, which they have held continuously since 2015. Selina Freitag, Karl Geiger, Katharina Althaus and Andreas Wellinger triumphed in Sunday’s competition at Srednja Skakalnica (HS102) in Planica. Norway won silver and Slovenia claimed bronze medals.
The German team defended the title with a win of 12.7 points over the runners-up Norway, who were in the lead after the first round. The bronze went to Slovenia, for which it was the first medal at the World Championships in Planica.
Austria finished just behind the podium. Japan was ranked fifth, Finland sixth, Switzerland seventh and Poland finished eighth.
The individual competition on the large hill will take place on Wednesday.
