WC in Oslo: Klinec takes the win

Ema Klinec won Sunday’s Raw Air competition at the Holmenkollbakken (HS134) in Oslo and strengthened her lead in the overall standings of the tournament. The Slovenian triumphed with jumps of 125 m and 134.5 m. Second place went to Chiara Kreuzer and third to Anna Odine Stroem.

In the first round, Anna Odine Stroem jumped 127.5 meters and thus led with an advantage of 7.7 points over Chiara Kreuzer (126 m) and 8 points over Yuki Ito (124.5 m). Katharina Althaus (123.5 m) was fourth, Ema Klinec (125 m) was fifth, and Selina Freitag (125 m) was sixth.

In the final, Ema Klinec did the longest jump, reaching 134.5 meters. Thanks to this attempt, the Slovenian scored her second World Cup victory in her career, defeating Chiara Kreuzer (122 m) by six points. The leader at the halfway point, Anna Odine Stroem (120 m), dropped to third place. Just behind the podium were Selina Freitag (123.5 m), Katharina Althaus (133 m with a fall) and Abigail Strate (119 m).

Thanks to the victory in Oslo, Ema Klinec (738.6 points) strengthened her lead in the Raw Air tournament. The Slovenian is 9.6 points ahead of Anna Odine Stroe (729.0 points) and 17.3 points ahead of Chiara Kreuzer (721.3 points).

Eva Pinkelnig (1528 points) is close to winning the Crystal Globe. In the three competitions until the end of the World Cup season, the Austrian is 236 points ahead of Katharina Althaus (1,292 points). Ema Klinec (1,155 points) moved up to the third position, ahead of Anna Odine Stroem (1,150 points).

Now the rivalry is moving to Lillehammer. Monday’s competition will start at 16:30 CET.
