Katharina Althaus became the winner of Wednesday’s Raw Air individual competition at Lysgaardsbakken (HS140) in Lillehammer. The German showed jumps of 131.5 m and 125.5 m. Alexandria Loutitt was second and Eva Pinkelnig finished third.
Due to the strong wind, the event in Lillehammer was postponed many times. Ultimately, the Lysgaardsbakken competition, originally scheduled for 16:30 CET, started an hour and a half late.
Katharina Althaus was in the lead already after the first round. The German reached a distance of 131.5 meters and was 11.1 points ahead of Eva Pinkelnig (133 m). Third was Silje Opseth (133.5 m) ahead of Selina Freitag (134.5 m), Alexandria Loutitt (132 m) and Anna Odine Stroe (129.5 m).
In the final, Katharina Althaus jumped 125.5 meters and triumphed with an advantage of 8.2 points over Alexandria Loutitt (130 m) and 9 points over Eva Pinkelnig (127 m). Selina Freitag (127.5 m), Silje Opseth (125.5 m) and Ema Klinec (130.5 m) were ranked just behind the podium.
For two rounds of jumps until the end of the tournament, Ema Klinec (1444.9 points) leads the Raw Air overall standings ahead of Katharina Althaus (1424.1 points) and Selina Freitag (1406.1 points).
In the World Cup overall standings, Eva Pinkelnig (1,612 points) is sure of the Crystal Globe, and Katharina Althaus (1,437 points) saved her second place. Ema Klinec (1255 points) and Anna Odine Stroem (1198 points) are fighting for the third place.
Now, the final of the tournament at the flying hill (HS240) in Vikersund (March 19) awaits for the best 15 athletes of Raw Air overall standings. This event will not be included in the World Cup standings.
