Yuki Ito became the winner of the final competition of the FIS World Cup season held at the Salpausselka hill (HS130) in Lahti. The athlete from Japan won with jumps of 117 m and 123 m. Anna Odine Stroem finished second and Katharina Althaus was third. Eva Pinkelnig had previously secured the Crystal Globe for the victory in overall standings.
In the first round, Katharina Althaus did the longest jump. Thanks to a distance of 123 meters, the German was leading by 9.7 points over Eirin Maria Kvandal (120 m) and 10.3 points over Eva Pinkelnig (119 m). Alexandria Loutitt (118.5 m) and Ema Klinec (118 m) were tied for fourth place, and Silje Opseth (117 m) was sixth.
In the final, surprisingly Yuki Ito soared to victory. The Japanese landed on 123 meters and jumped from the seventh place to the highest step of the podium. The Japanese beat Anna Odine Stroem (123.5 m) by 1.2 points. The leader at the halfway point, Katharina Althaus (116 m), was finally third, ahead of Eva Pinkelnig (119 m), Eirin Maria Kvandal (119 m) and Maren Lundby (120.5 m).
The winner of the FIS World Cup overall standings in the 2022/2023 season was Eva Pinkelnig. The Austrian appeared in 26 competitions, in which she scored 1,662 points and thus became the oldest winner of the Crystal Globe in history. The second place went to Katharina Althaus (1497 points). The third was Ema Klinec (1281 points), who defeated Anna Odine Stroem (1278 points) by three points.
The Nations Cup was won by the Austrians (4,154 points) ahead of the Germans (3,904 points) and the Norwegians (3,720 points).
