WC in Ljubno: Stroem’s victory at New Year’s Eve

Anna Odine Stroem became the winner of the third competition of the Silvester Tournament at the Logarska Dolina hill (HS94) in Ljubno. The athlete from Norway won thanks to the jumps at 91.5 m and 90.5 m. The lead in the tournament and the World Cup was maintained by the second Eva Pinkelnig, and the podium was completed by Katharina Althaus.

Anna Odine Stroem was leading already after the first round of the competition in Ljubno. The Norwegian reached a distance of 91.5 meters and at the halfway point of the competition she had 3.8 points ahead of Eva Pinkelnig (90.5 m) and was 5.9 points over Ema Klinec (87.5 m). Fourth place went to Katharina Althaus (90m), fifth to Chiara Kreuzer (85.5m) and sixth to Alexandria Loutitt (88m).

In the second round, Anna Odine Stroem achieved a distance of 90.5 meters, which allowed her to celebrate her first ever victory in the World Cup competition. The Norwegian repulsed the attack of Eva Pinkelnig (93.5 m), who lost 0.9 points to the winner. The lowest step of the podium was taken by Katharina Althaus (85.5 m), followed by Ema Klinec (86 m), Sara Takanashi (91 m) and Nika Kriznar (89.5 m).

Eva Pinkelnig (776.9 points) is close to winning the Silvester Tournament. Before the final competition, the Austrian is 23.3 points ahead of Anna Odine Stroem (753.6 points). Third place goes to Katharina Althaus (740.7 points).

Eva Pinkelnig (616 points) is invariably leading in the World Cup overall standings, ahead of Katharina Althaus (509 points) and Anna Odine Stroe (411 points).

The final competition of the Silvester Tournament 2022/2023 will be held in Ljubno on New Year’s Day.
