WC in Willingen: Kramer wins in the one-round competition

Marita Kramer won Saturday’s one-round individual competition of the FIS World Cup at the Muehlenkopfschanze (HS147) in Willingen. The athlete from Austria triumphed with a jump of 123.5 meters. The second place was taken by Katharina Althaus and Ema Klinec finished third.

Marita Kramer triumphed in the lasting over an hour one-round competition. The World Cup leader jumped 123.5 meters and won with an advantage of 3.1 points over Katharina Althaus (126.5 m). Ema Klinec (127 m) finished on the lowest step of the podium, followed by Yuki Ito (123.5 m), Nika Kriznar (120.5 m) and Josephine Pagnier (113 m).

Ursa Bogataj (108.5 m) was ranked seventh, Silje Opseth (111.5 m) was eighth, and Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (109 m) was ninth. The top ten was closed by Frida Westman (108 m).

Selina Freitag had a dangerous fall after landing. The German received medical care and left the landing area on her own strength.

Thanks to the victory in Willingen, Marita Kramer (870 points) strengthened her lead in the World Cup, ahead of Katharina Althaus (618 points) and Ursa Bogataj (561 points).

A second individual event in Willingen is scheduled for Sunday. The competition will start at 10:00 AM.
