Elena Runggaldier wins in Erzurum ahead of Yurika Hirayama and Lisa Demetz.
Despite the Junior World Championships in Otepää are in the centre of attention these days, also the Winter Universiade is taking place in Erzurum, Turkey. A handful of female skijumpers has come there for today’s competition on the K95. The Universiade, often called World Student Games, is the most important sport event for university students and is held every two years. Ladies Skijumping was included to the program in 2005.
Italy’s Elena Runggaldier won the competition with a pair of jumps on 105.5 and 99.5 meters. Yurika Hirayama from Japan took the second place (102.0 and 96.5 m), third came Italy’s Lisa Demetz (99.5 and 92.5 m). Slovenia’s Maja Vtic (97.5 and 95.0 m) came fourth ahead of Sabrina Windmüller (SUI, 95.5 and 91.0 m) and Wendy Vuik (NED, 91.0 and 93.5 m).
