At the FIS Autumn Meeting, that was held in Zurich (SUI) the last week, the introduction of the Ladies World Cup in the winter 2011/12 was confirmed.
A provisional World Cup calendar was released. It is planned to open the World Cup in December in Lillehammer (NOR). This event might be held together with the men’s Word Cup. The season final in March will also be in Norway, on the Midstubakken in Oslo. Also Val di Fiemme (ITA), Hinzenbach (AUT), Brattleboro (USA) and Zao (JPN) have been named as venues. Germany, Poland and Slovenia will also host World Cups, but did not announce yet, where exactly.
The rules for the World Cup were also elaborated. Every country can nominate up to six athletes for a competition. In addition, the hosting nation is allowed to run also a national group. Competitors need to be at least 15 years old.
