Daniela Iraschko was best in today’s official training on the K85 in Ljubno. Only few teams are competing there.
Only 28 jumpers are attending the Continental Cup competitions in Ljubno this weekend, because many national teams are already preparing for the Junior World Championships, that will begin next week in Otepää. Only Russia, Canada and the hosting nation Slovenia are present with their full teams.
Germany has sent four jumpers of it’s A-team, Norway two B-team athletes. The Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria are represented by one athlete each. Three athletes from China have also made it to Ljubno.
The French team with Coline Mattel, winner of the last three competitions, is absent, as well as America, Finland and the Czech Republic.
Today in the evening, two official training rounds were held on the K-85 hill. A jump on 85.0 meters in the second training round by Austria’s Daniela Iraschko was the longest of the day. The hosting nation Slovenia was also strong, Spela Rogelj and Anja Tepes both jumped 80.5 meters. Ursa Bogataj jumped very consistent in both rounds (76.5 and 79.0 meters).
