Ema Klinec, Spela Rogelj, Ursa Bogataj, Maja Vtic and Katja Pozun won the first Ladies Cup competitions of this season.
The first competitions of this Summer were held on the weekend in Kisovec. The inaugural competitions of this season’s Ladies Cup, the international junior series in Ladies Skijumping were held there. As usual in this series, the competitions were held in three age groups. Beside the hosting nation Slovenia, also jumpers from Austria and the Czech Republic attended the competitions.
Both competitions for girls (14 years old and younger) were won by Slovenia’s Ema Klinec. She was followed on both days by the Austrians Sonja Schoitsch and Chiara Hölzl. It is a pleasure to note, that as many as five girls from the Czech Republic made their international debut in these competitions.
Also the junior competitions (15-17 years old) were both won by Slovenians. While Spela Rogelj won on Saturday, Ursa Bogataj was able to win on Sunday. Barbara Klinec twice came third.
Maja Vtic won Saturday’s competition in the ladies age group (18 and older). Second on that day came Katja Pozun. It was her first international competition since February 2008. She was able to make this comeback perfect by winning on Sunday, when Vtic did not start.
