Maja Vtic wins the Continental Cup in Zakopane ahead of Lisa Demetz and Katharina Althaus.

Maja Vtic won the Continental Cup in Zakopane on Friday with a pair of jumps on 86.0 and 91.0 meters. It is her third Continental Cup win. Second came Italy’s Lisa Demetz, who was still in in the lead after the first round (90.5 m), but had a weaker jump in the second (83.0 m). Third came Germany’s Katharina Althaus, who jumped 85.5 and 87.0 meters. It is the first podium rank in her career.

France’s Coline Mattel jumped from seven to four in the second round (83.5 and 89.0 m). Fifth came Italy’s Evelyn Insam (84.0 and 86.0 m) ahead of Germany’s Anna Rupprecht (88.5 and 82.5 m).

Germany’s Ramona Straub and Poland’s Joanna Szwab were disqualified as their suits did not match the regulations.

With this Victory Vtic has taken over the lead in the overall Continental Cup. She has 160 points now. Second rank is taken by Mattel (150 points), third by Demetz (130 points). The Continental Cup continues on the 13th of August in Bischofsgrün.
