Coline Mattel won Saturday’s Continental Cup in Bischofsgrün ahead of Sarah Takanashi and Maja Vitc.

Bischofsgrün once again gave prove, that even the smallest hill in the Continental Cup is always good for interesting competitions. Winner of the thrilling contest was France’s Coline Mattel, who jumped on 66.5 and 69.0 meters. Already in the official training in the morning Mattel showed, that she knows how to handle this hill, when she made a 70.5 meter jump. That is a new training hill record for Ladies.

With this victory, Mattel has also a good base to win the German Summer Tour, that is formed by the CoCs here in Bischofsgrün, by a FIS-Race in Pöhla and by the CoCs in Oberwiesenthal next weekend. Already in the last year she had won this series. “I plan to go to Pöhla, so it is possible that I win it, but I don’t know if I am able to do so. I also have to jump well on the other hills. Of course it would be nice to win again”, she said to Ladies-Skijumping.com.

Second came Japan’s Sara Takanashi with a pair of jumps on 67.0 and 67.5 meters. “A top six result is my goal for tomorrow”, she revealed after the competition. Slovenia’s Maja Vtic took the third rank by jumping twice 66.5 meters. “I am satisfied with my third place, as my jumping was not perfect today. I will do better tomorrow,” she said.

Anna Häfele (GER, 66.0 and 66.5 m), Eva Logar (SLO, 66.5 and 66.0 m) and Katharina Althaus (GER, 65.0 and 66.0 m) followed on ranks four to six. In general the Slovenian team was the strongest of the day, as Ursa Bogataj, Ema Klinec and Spela Rogelj took also ranks eight to ten,.

Mattel took now the leas in the Continental Cup’s overall standings (250 points), Logar follows on second (220) and Takanashi on third (184).
