Germany won team gold at the Youth Olympic Games ahead of Slovenia and Canada.
For the Youth Olympic Games 2012 over 1000 athletes from 60 countries gather in Innsbruck to compete for 63 Gold Medals. The ski jumping competitions are held on the K68 in Seefeld, about 20 km west of Innsbruck. Today the ski jumping team competition was held. Each team was made up by three athletes, a Lady, a Man and a Nordic Combined skier.
The German team with Katharina Althaus ( 67.0 and 63.0 m), Tom Lubitz (64.0 and 67.0 m) and Andreas Wellinger (65.0 and 73.5 m) won the gold medal. They had a 30 point advantage over the second ranked team from Slovenia with Ursa Bogataj (55.0 and 66.0 m), Luka Pintaric (59.0 and 66.0 m) and Anze Lanisek (65.0 and 77.0 m). Taylor Henrich (56.0 and 54.0 m), Nathaniel Mah (64.0 and 67.5 m) and Dusty Korek (63.0 and 73.5 m) won the bronze medal for Canada.
Fourth came Finland with Jenny Rautionaho, Ilkka Herola and Miika Ylipulli. The Japanese team with individual champion Sara Takanashi, Go Yamamoto and Yukiya Sato came fifth. Karoline Roestad, Harald Johnas Riiber and Mats Berggaard (NOR) finished sixth.
