Anna Rupprecht won in Rasnov ahead of Sonja Schoitsch and Lena Selbach.

Not only the World Championships in Val di Fiemme are held at the moment, also another important international tournament is running: The European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) is held in Brasov, Romanina. The ski jumping competitions are held on the jumping hills nearby in Rasnov.

Ladies Skijumping competitions were included to the programme of the festival in 2001. Winner then was Daniela Iraschko, two years later Anette Sagen won. But then the Ladies did not participate anymore, so this year’s competition was the first one after a break of 10 years. Junior athletes from Europe between 13 and 17 years compete in this festival.

The result of the competition on the K64 hill today was very close. In the end Germany’s Anna Rupprecht (65.0 and 65.5 m) scored 0.1 points more than Austria’s Sonja Schoitsch (66.0 and 63.0 m) and so won the competition. Third came Lena Selbach, also from Germany, with a pair of jumps of 65.5 and 64.5 meters. Elisabeth Raudaschl (AUT, 63.0 and 65.5 m), Barbora Blazkova (CZE, 64.5 and 64.0 m) and Marie Hoyau (FRA, twice 64.5 m) followed on places four to six.

Bad luck hat Finland’s Jenny Rautionaho. After jumping 64.5 meters she was third after the first round, but in the second round she fell at 63.5 meters and seriously injured her knee. Finally she took the 12th place.
