Japan’s Sara Takanashi and Yuki Ito performed strong in the official training in Oslo, as well as Gyda Enger from Norway.
The season is almost over, so it is time to jump on the big hills. The first large hill competition of this winter will be held tomorrow on the famous Holmenkollen in Oslo. Famous – not only for it’s jumping tradition, but also for the fog that disturbs jumping there regularly. And also today there was really dense fog that made it impossible to jump all afternoon. The official training, that was originally scheduled for 4:30 p.m., was postponed several times and eventually held at nine o’clock in the evening.
Clearly the best jumper in this training was overall World Cup winner Sara Takanashi from Japan. She jumped 128.0,125.5 and 130.5 meters and so scored the most points in all three rounds. Also her team-mate Yuki Ito jumped very far and made jumped of 128.5, 120.5 and 122.0 meters. With these jumps she took a second and two third places. Very strong was the performance of Norway’s Gyda Enger. She jumped 124.5 (3rd place) and 122.0 (2nd place) meters and then passed on the third jump. Germany’s Anna Häfele jumped 107.5 and 108.5 meters in the first two rounds, but then improved and made a nice third jump of 124.5 meters.
