Jerneja Brecl easily took his third career victory in the FIS Continental Cup. The 20-year-old Slovenian was accompanied on the podium of Saturday’s competition in Rasnov by two Chinese athletes.
The athlete born in Maribor was unstopable in the first competition on the 97-meter hill in Romania. Brecl reached 93 meters in the first round, and improved by 1.5 meters in the final one. Such results allowed her to build a 20-point advantage over the next athletes. The podium was completed by the ski jumpers from China. The second one was Liangayo Wang (85.5 and 92 meters), and the third was Bing Dong (89.5 and 85 meters).
The winners’ teammates also landed in the top of the results table. Jerneja Repinc Zupancic (79.5 and 85 meters) came fourth, followed by Nika Prevc (84 and 83 meters). Sixth place went to Qingyue Peng (88.5 and 83.5 meters).
Julia Muehlbacher (178 points) is in the lead in the overall standings of FIS Summer Continental Cup, ahead of Mariia Iakovleva (160 points) and Birun Shao (146 points).
The start of the Sunday competition is scheduled at 10:00 (CET).
