Ulrike Grässler wins friday’s competition in Lillehammer, Line Jahr and Sarah Hendrickson on second and third rank.
In the first round Line Jahr (NOR) was able to take the first rank. Her 97.0 m jump was one meter shorter then the one of second placed Ulrike Grässler (GER), but due to high judges points Jahr was 5.5 points ahead. Third after the round was Melanie Faisst (GER), followed by Anette Sagen (NOR), Bigna Windmüller (SUI), Magdalena Schnurr (GER), Sarah Hendrickson (USA) and Yuuki Itoh (JPN) on ranks four to eight, all just within 4.5 points behind her.
In the second round 95.5 m were enough for Grässler to overtake Jahr who only jumped 86.0 m. That distance was enough for her to take the second place as all of the persecutors also did not jump longer. 89.0 m were enough for Hendrickson to jump from seven to three. For her it is the first podium rank after her random victory last winter in Zakopane. World Champion Lindsey Van (USA), who started here for the first time in that summer, was able to jump from 20 to 10 with a 90.5 m jump.
With that victory Grässler already secured the win of the overall Summer Continental Cup, as she is now more then 200 points ahead of second ranked Ayumi Watase (JPN) and there is only one more competition scheduled.
