Daniela Iraschko wins third competition in a row. Many spectators attend competition in Baiersbronn. Prize giving ceremony held in the evening with big band.

About five hundred spectators attended the competition in Baiersbronn. As some brought rattles and whistles it was a great athmosphere.

After jumping 87.0 m in the first round American Lindsey Van was in the lead in front of Daniela Iraschko (AUT) and Anette Sagen (NOR). Local hero Magdalena Schnurr (GER) was only on the fourth rank after that round. The crowd made a lot of noise to push her to the podium in vain, as her 87,5 m jump in the second round was only enough to secure the fourth place for her. With her 88.5 m jump Iraschko was able to get ahead of Lindsey Van and win the third competition in a row. Jumping the same distance as Iraschko Sagen was able to keep the third place.

Ladies-Skijumping.com asked Anette Sagen after the competition, if she is a little bit angry that she was not yet able to win a competition this season. “No, I am not really angry about that. The level is getting higher. It´s much more difficult to win now than before. I had two good jumps today, so i`m just happy to have the third rank.”

But she admits that it seems to be “bad timing” for her that the other jumpers get stronger just in the Word Champinships`s season.

The prize giving ceremony was held in the evening in the center of Baiersbronn. The big band “Shitbulls”, played some songs in the typical stile of Black Forrest`s carnival and entertained the people. For the band, existing since 1992, it was the first time to play for the ski jumpers. Also here it was a nice athmosphere and even some raindrops did not disturb anyone.
