Lisa Demetz (ITA) wins COC in Dobbiaco/Toblach ahead of Evelyn Insam (ITA) and Line Jahr (NOR).
As many experienced jumpers skipped the competition in Dobbiaco Canadian Nata de Leeuw and Slovenian Maja Vtic were the only starters out of the top ten in the COC’s overall standings. Despite the competition took place under snowy weather conditions it was not influenced by wind and all had jumpers had a pretty fast inrun.
In the first round the Italians Lisa Demetz and Evelyn Insam both jumped 66.0 m jumps and got equal judges points. This was enough for them to take the first position ahead of Norwegian Line Jahr (65.0 m). Bigna Windmüller (SUI), Vtic and de Leeuw followed on the places four to six.
In the second Round Insam was able to set the competitions longest jump to 72.0 m. But a 71.0 m jump with higher judges points was enough to gain victory for Demetz. Jahr secured her third place by a 96.0 m jump. Vitic and de Leeuw were able to take over Windmüller and finished fourth and fifth.
This competition had no effect on the lead in the Continentalcup’s overall standings but Jahr was able to enter the top ten and is now on the seventh place. Demetz is ranked 11th, only one point behind tenth placed Magdalena Schnurr (GER). Insam, who only competed in four Continentalcups this winter so far, made a big jump to the 18th place.
