Daniela Iraschko won Wednesday’s competition in Rovaniemi ahead of Jessica Jerome and Lindsey Van. Iraschko and Jerome share the 1st rank in the overall standings now.
It was a comprehensive victory for Austria’s Daniela Iraschko in today’s second Continental Cup competition in Rovaniemi. She jumped twice on 98.0 meters and thus beat her opponents by more then 20 points. It is her 31st win in a CoC competition.
For the second rank it was a close race between two Americans, yesterday’s winner Jessica Jerome (twice 93.0 m) and Lindsey Van (93.5 and 92.0 m). While Van was still ahead after the first round, Jerome was able to catch her up in the second and beat her by half a point.
Fourth came Austria’s Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (91.0 and 93.5 m). Melanie Faisst (GER, twice 91.5 m) and Line Jahr (NOR, 91.5 and 90.5 m) took the fifth and sixth place.
The first rank in the Continental Cup’s overall standings is now – after the first two competitions – shared by Iraschko and Jerome. Both have 180 points, with one win and one runner-up slot each. Van takes the third rank (110 points).
The next competition will be held on Saturday in Vikersund.
