Daniela Iraschko won the second competition in Vikersund ahead of Coline Mattel and Lindsey Van.
Saturday’s winner Daniela Iraschko (AUT) won also the second competition in Vikersund on Sunday. Already after the first round she was in the lead with a jump of 118.0 meters. In the second she even jumped 122.0 meters, equal to the distance of her own ladies hill record, set in the last year. Coline Mattel, yesterday’s fourth from France, took the second place today (113.0 and 115.0 m). Like yesterday, America’s Lindsey Van finished third (112.0 and 113.5 m).
Fourth came Sarah Hendrickson (USA, 111.5 and 107.5 m). Also the fifth and sixth rank were taken by the same jumpers like yesterday, Germany’s Melanie Faisst (112.0 and 108.0 m) and America’s Jessica Jerome (106.5 and 108.5 m).
Despite the top six ranks were taken by the same athletes like yesterday (only Mattel and Hendrickson have swapped places), the competition was held on a very high level and many of the ladies had a pair of jumps across the 100 meter mark.
With her third win of the season Iraschko has extended her lead in the overall Continental Cup. She has 380 points now. Second ranked is Jerome (260 points), third Van (230 points). The Continental Cup continues on Friday in Notodden (NOR).
