Daniela Iraschko, Yuki Ito and Ulrike Grässler were best in today’s official training in Brotterode.

The Continental Cup continues this weekend on the HS117 in Brotterode. The competitions here are held together with mens Continental Cup. Brotterode is one of only two venues, where Ladies CoCs are hosted on a Large Hill. Today in the morning, three official training rounds were held. It was a little foggy, but wind was calm most of the time. Despite the weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday is on thaw, we can expect nice competitions here, as the hill is excellently prepared.

Today’s official training saw already a lot of nice jumps. In the third training round, there was some tailwind, so the distances were a little shorter in this one. A jump on 112.0 meters in the first round by Austria’s Daniela Iraschko was the longest of the day. Also her other two jumps on 95.0 and 101.5 meters were quite far. Germany’s Melanie Faisst was only a little behind her in the first training, as she jumped 110.0, 97.0 and 93.0 meters.

Also the Japanese Team performed fine. Yuki Ito jumped 102.0, 98.5 (longest jump of second round) and 97.5 meters, Sara Takanashi got better and better from jump to jump and made it to 92.5, 95.0 and 102.0 meters. A little surprising Germany’s Ulrike Grässler was best in the third round. After jumping 85.0 and 75.5 meters before, she suddenly had a jump on 103.0 meters. Grässler was one of the best jumpers during the last years, but is struggling to keep pace this winter.
