FIS presented a final calendar draft for the first Ladies World Cup season, that will be held next winter.

At it’s sub-committee meeting last weekend in Zurich, FIS presented a final calendar draft for next winter’s Ladies World Cup and for the summer and winter Continental Cups. This draft can still be modified at the calendar conference in Portoroz in June. It is a positive note, that 16 World Cup competitions at 10 different sites are planned. The most significant difference to to the first draft that was released last October is, that Brattleboro, Vermont, was withdrawn and Moscow was added instead.

The World Cup will be kicked-off in Lillehammer in December. This competition is held together with the Men’s World Cup. The World Cup Final will be in Oslo on Midstubakken on March 10th. Furthermore Schonach, Hinterzarten, Val di Fiemme, Szczyrk, Hinzenbach, Ljubno and Zao will host World Cup competitions.

As Continental Cups won’t be held on the same weekends as World Cups, the CoC will consist only of eight competitions. Rovaniemi, Notodden and Liberec are already on the calendar, while one more site still needs to be announced.

Only few Continental Cups in the summer
Also in the summer only few Continental Cups will be held. While there were still eleven competition in the last summer, only eight will be held this year. The Summer-CoC will start already in July with two competitions in Poland, in Szczyrk and Zakopane, that go along with the Men’s Grand Prix. Like in the last years, Bischofsgrün and Oberwiesenthal are the events in August. The summer’s final is scheduled in Trondheim in September.
