Two competitions of the Ladies Cup, the junior series in Ladies Skijumping were held on Thursday and Friday in Gerardmer, France.
The girls age group was totally dominated by the strong Austrian team. On both days Sonja Schoitsch was able to win, on Thursday ahead of Chiara Hölzl and Anna Rieser who shared the second rank, on Friaday ahead of Rieser and Elisabeth Raudaschl. With Eria Zelger and Gianina Ernst two jumpers from Switzerland made there debut in an international competition there, also France had two debutants, Oceane Avocat Gros and Marie Hoyau.
The hosting nation France had an easy job in the juniors class. Not very surprising, Coline Mattel won both of the junior’s competitions. On both days Lea Lemare and Julia Clair came second and third behind her. The only non-French competitor in this group, Austria’s Lisa Wiegele, placed a distant fourth on both days.
Also in the ladies age group, the result was the same on both days. Switzerland’s Sabrina Windmüller won both competitions ahead of Lara Thomae (NED) and Caroline Espiau (FRA). The next Ladies Cup will be held on August 27th/18th in Berchtesgaden, Germany.
