Sara Takanashi was best in today’s first official training for the Youth Olympic Games 2012.
The first Youth Olympic Games will be kicked-off tomorrow in Innsbruck. 1058 athletes from 60 countries will compete in 63 competitions there. The ski jumping competitions are held on the K68 in Seefeld, about 20 km west of Innsbruck. Next to the individual competitions for girls and boys also a mixed team event will be held.
In the ladies competition 14 jumpers from 14 countries are competing. Already today the first official training was held. Clearly the best jumper of that training was Japan’s Sara Takanashi. With 76.0, 79.5 and 75.0 meters she jumped farthest in all three training rounds. Also Germany’s Katharina Althaus (72.5 73.0 and 74.0 m) and Slovenia’s Ursa Bogataj (74.5 72.0 and 72.5 m) had three well jumps. A little more inconsistent were the jumps of Canada’s Taylor Henrich (72.0, 72.0 and 67.5 m) and France’s Lea Lemare (68.5, 72.0 and 67.5 m).
