The World Cup final will be held in Oslo tomorrow. Sara Takanashi and Ulrike Grässler performed best in today’s official training.
The first World Cup season of the Ladies will conclude with the final competition on the Midstubakken (HS106) in Oslo tomorrow. An official training for this competition was held today in the afternoon.
Best in the two training rounds was Japan’s Sara Takanashi, who jumped 104.5 and 99.0 meters. Only close behind her is Germany’s Ulrike Grässler with jumps on 102.0 and 99.5 meters. These two are fighting each other for the third rank in the overall World Cup. Takanashi has an advantage of 49 points on Grässler in the ranking. If the German wins tomorrow, Takanashi requires at least a third rank to hold the third position.
Also Anette Sagen from Norway performed well and jumped 99.5 and 104.0 meters. Maybe she can use her home advantage tomorrow and celebrate her second podium of the season. America’s Sarah Hendrickson, who is already fixed as overall World Cup winner, just failed to cross the 100 meter line today. She jumped 98.5 and 99.0 meters.
A little surprising was the strong performance of Juliane Seyfarth. The German, who was out of the team since Predazzo, jumped second farthest in both training rounds (102.5 and 99.5 m), but because of losing points to the gate compensation rule she only took the 6th and 7th round rank.
Daniela Iraschko from Austria, who won the World Championships on this hill in the last year, was not as strong as expected. She jumped 94.5 and 94.0 meters.
