Katharina Althaus won in Oberstdorf ahead of Melanie Faisst and Gianina Ernst.
Katharina Althaus won the German Championships, that were held this Saturday in Oberstdorf. On the HS106 hill there she made a pair of jumps of 97.5 and 99.0 meters and so won ahead of Melanie Faisst who jumped 95.0 and 98.5 meters. On the third place came Gianina Ernst with jumps of 93.5 and 97.5 meters. Ramona Straub, Pauline Hessler and Anna Häfele followed in places four to six. There was rain and gusty wind during the competition, but Althaus said: “The conditions were fair by all means. Due to the tailwind we used a longer inrun”.
Defending champion Svenja Würth fell when landing a 105.5 meter jump in the first round and so was unable to make a second jump. After the competition she had some pain in her knee, but at the moment it is unclear if she suffered an injury.

Already on Friday Althaus had also won the junior’s competition on the K60 hill. For this victory she made jumps of 58.0 and 59.0 meters. Second came Ernst with jumps of 56.5 and 58.5 meters ahead of Luisa Görlich, who jumped 56.0 meters twice. Hessler, Veronika Zobel and Melanie Häckert followed on places four to six.
