Austria’s Daniela Iraschko-Stolz has to quit the running World Cup season immediately. She suffered a meniscal laceration during training on Monday in Seefeld.

Already on Tuesday morning Iraschko-Stolz was operated by Dr. Christan Hoser at “Sanatorium Hochrum”. The surgery of the left knee went successful and complication-free. If the healing process runs fine, she has to take a break of about six weeks.

“I must be jinxed! Everything was running so well, but now I am injured again”, said Iraschko Stolz. „My Silver Medal is of course conciliating, but with Holmenkollen and Planica two really cool competitions are on the World Cup schedule. It hurts, that I cannot compete there.“

„Actually I don’t know how this injury happened. I made a really cool jump. It was far, but my landing was fine, without shaking or sitting down. But then I felt a sudden pain and knew immediately that something is damaged again. Luckily the cruciate ligament is O.K., so I don’t expect a too long break.”
