Bigna Windmüller retires from active sports.
Switzerland’s national ski association “Swiss-Ski” announced in a press release on Mondy, that Bigna Windmüller decided to quit her career at the age of 23. Windmüller’s best World Cup result was a third place in Zao this January. At the World Cup im Rasnov three weeks ago a rupture of her anterior cruciate ligament was detected. Most likely she suffered this injury already in the trial round for the Olympic Games in Sochi, where she took the 18th place.
“Thanks to ski jumping I gained a lot of experience over the past years and I learned many new things in this fascinating sport. I can look back with gratitude and pride on a great time. Now I’m going to take my career plans into my hands and look forward to a new phase of life,” she said.
Ladies-Skijumping.com wishes her good luck for the future.
