Sarah Hendrickson best in official training, Daniela Iraschko only slightly behind.
The World Cup continues this weekend in Val di Fiemme, Predazzo. The HS106 here will be venue for the World Championships next year, so the competitions here are maybe the most important ones of this winter, as all athletes have the chance to get familiar with the hill.
Today in the afternoon three official training rounds were held. After the chaotic weather conditions in Hinterzarten last week, the weather is way more friendly here. Nevertheless during the second and the third training round a number of breaks had to be taken because the wind was too inconsistent.
The World Cup leader Sarah Hendrickson from the United States performed best in that training. She jumped 95.0 and 104.0 meters and then skipped the third training round. Austria’s Daniela Iraschko was the only athlete, who crossed the 100 meter line twice, she jumped on 100.5, 97.5 and 100.5 meters. Also Lindsey Van (USA, 95.0 and 100.5 m) and local hero Evelyn Insam (86, 85.5 and 100,5) were jump over that imaginary line.
Austria’s Jacqueline Seifriedsberger was maybe the most consistent jumper of that training. She jumped twice on 97 and once on 98 meters. Also Coline Mattel (73.5, 99.0 and 91.5 m), Anette Sagen (98.5 and 96.0), Jessica Jerome (93.5, 89.0 and 98,0 m), Ulrike Grässler (97.0 and 91.0 m) and Anna Häfele (80.0, 85.0, and 89.0 m) jumped very far in at least one of their jumps. So if the weather stays calm, we can look forward to a really high-class competition tomorrow.
