Anette Sagen was awarded a grant of 250.000 Norwegian Crowns by IOC member Gerhard Heiberg.
Norwegian ski jumper Anette Sagen was awarded with a grant of 250.000 Crowns (about 31.000 €) by Norwegian IOC member Gerhard Heiberg. The ceremony took place during an opening of a restaurant in Oslo Holmenkollen. The prize was sponsored by Eiendomsspar AS.
“There are many great female athletes in sports who are important role models for young talents. Anette Sagen is one of them. She is a pioneer. The guys are already getting a lot of attention in sports circles. Now it’s the ladies turn to shine”, said grant donor Christian Ringnes at the ceremony.
Sagen can use the amount of the grant freely to achieve the best possible results at the upcoming World Championships. Furthermore it should be an inspiration for women in sports throughout Norway, but especially in skijumping.
