Daniela Iraschko won Saturday’s competition in Vikersund, Sarah Hendrickson and Lindsey Van took second and third rank.

It was a competition on a very high level on Saturday in Vikersund, as a really vast number of jumpers was able to exceed the 100 meter mark. But in the end Austria’s Daniela Iraschko was the undisputed winner, with two jumps on 115.0 and 119.5 meters. The United States had once more the best result as a team. Sarah Hendrickson (112.5 and 115.5 m) and Lindsey Van (109.5 and 116.5 m) joined Iraschko on the podium.

Fourth came Coline Mattel (FRA, 111.0 and 113.5 m). It was her first competition this winter, as she had skipped the CoCs in Rovaniemi. Germany’s Melanie Faisst (110.5 and 110.0 m) took the fifth place. Jessica Jerome (108.0 and 109.0 m) on the sixth rank completed America’s good team result.

In the overall Continental Cup Iraschko is now the sole front runner with 280 points. Jerome, who was sharing the first rank in the standings with her before the competition, is second now (220 points). Van is currently on the third rank (180 points).

The next competition will be held tomorrow, at 13:00 h local time, again in Vikersund.
