Ursa Bogataj won in Baiersbronn on Saturday ahead of Ema Klinec and Anna Rupprecht.
Despite the focus of attention was this weekend on the World Championships in Oslo, there was also another important ski jumping competition. The OPA Games, the most important junior championship for athletes from alpine countries, were held in Baiersbronn. The competitions were originally scheduled in Einsiedeln, but were moved to Baiersbronn due to a lack of snow.
Slovenia’s Ursa Bogataj won the competition on Saturday with a pair of jumps on 92.0 and 88.5 meters. Her team-mate Ema Klinec came second (90.0 and 83.5 m), defending champion Anna Rupprecht from Germany third (84.5 and 81.0 m). Ranks four to six claimed Austrias Cornelia Roider (86.0 and 78.0 m), Germany’s Veronika Zobel (83.0 and 79.5 m) and Austria’s Sonja Schoitsch (83.0 and 79.5 m). In total 17 jumpers from six countries were competing.
